Here you will find important updates, schedules, team expectations, fundraising information, volunteer opportunities, and key contacts. Our goal is to provide clear communication so that players and families have the best possible experience both on and off the field.

High school baseball is about more than just the game — it’s about teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and building young men of character. Your support plays a vital role in the success of our program and the development of our athletes.

STURGIS HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Our baseball program competes under the guidelines established by the South Dakota High School Baseball Association (SDHSBA). While baseball is not sanctioned by the SDHSAA, the SDHSBA governs eligibility, scheduling, classifications (Class A & Class B), postseason play, and state tournaments. Team Provided Uniform

Uniform Deposit: $150 Uniform
Returned: Clean, Undamaged Jersey & Team-Colored Belt
Deposit Return: A $150 uniform deposit is due at registration, held by the treasurer until season’s end. Once all uniforms are returned in good condition, your deposit will be refunded. Deposits for missing, damaged, or uncleaned uniforms will be retained.

Baseball Cleats (no wild colors preferred)

To keep parents, players, and families informed, we use multiple tools:

Remind – Quick alerts for practice changes, weather delays, and announcements.
Facebook – Team updates, photos, and community news.
Website – Official information, forms, schedules, and contact details.
Tip: Make sure you are signed up for all platforms to stay fully informed throughout the season.

Behind the Plate Backstop Signs

To offset registration fees, players have the opportunity to raise funds through our backstop program. For each backstop sold, the player will get $125 credit toward their registration fees (no minimum sign sales).Ensure Backstop Sign Form CompletionMoneyBusiness Logo proper format (PDF or vector file only)

Signs Displayed: April 1 through July 30 (weather depending).

Annual Pass Sales

Each player is required to sell $100 in annual season passes, which will gain them access into both High School and Legion games. After completion of the $100 requirement in sales, players can earn credit towards their player fees up to $125.

$350-volunteer fee per player
$150-uniform fee per player (one time fee, only pay once)

Discounts:

$100 discount from legion registration fee if playing both seasons
$25 discount for families with multiple players *This can only be taken once (legion or high school)

Deadline: February 28 ($50 late fee following this date)

LEGION FEES

Registration Fees: If paying by check, separate check must be used for each fee (uniform, volunteer, registration)

Registration Fee: $700 (playing legion only)

Fees:

$90 equipment fee per player (one time fee; only pay once)
$400-volunteer fee per player
$150-uniform fee per player (one time fee; only pay once)

Discounts:

$100 discount from legion registration fee if playing both seasons
$25 discount for families with multiple players *This can only be taken once (legion or high school)

Deadline: May 21, 2026 ($75 late fee and my player will not be eligible to play until fees are paid)

In case of an emergency, if family physician cannot be reached, I hereby authorize my child to be treated by Certified Emergency Personnel (i.e. EMT, First Responder, ER Physician)
