Paul Pool became the coach of the Sturgis Post 33 Titans American Legion baseball program while also serving as the head coach of Sturgis High School baseball, further strengthening the connection between the school program and Legion team.
Pool brings more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school level, most notably in Allen, Texas, where he held multiple coaching roles, including time as a head coach. During his time in Texas, he built a reputation for developing fundamentally sound players and fostering a strong team-first culture.
After returning to western South Dakota, Pool continued his work in Legion baseball with Rapid City Post 320, gaining valuable experience within the state’s competitive American Legion system and building relationships across the region.
In 2025, Pool was named team manager of the Post 33 Titans in Sturgis. His leadership marked a new chapter for the program, as he brought a blend of long-term program-building experience, player development focus, and regional baseball knowledge to the organization.
“My goal is to build a program where players understand the game, compete the right way, and represent their community with pride,” Pool said.
In 2025, Pool took over the Post 33 Titans, leading the program into a new era with an emphasis on continuity between high school and summer baseball. His dual role with Sturgis High School allows him to guide player development year-round and create a consistent philosophy across both programs.
“Having the opportunity to work with these athletes during the high school season and into the summer gives us a chance to really focus on development and continuity.”
As head coach, Pool continues to invest in the growth of baseball in Sturgis, aiming to build a sustainable, competitive program that develops players for the next level while strengthening the local baseball community.
